CANET-EN-ROUSSILLON 

Canet-en-Roussillon is a popular destination for its natural environment and Mediterranean climate. On the one hand, there's Canet-plage with its magnificent seafront, the ideal spot for a wide range of sporting activities: kayaking, paddle-boarding, kite-surfing, jet-skiing, volleyball... the casino, summer entertainment and shops, the marina... and on the other, Canet-village, where medieval castles, fine 17th-century houses and winding streets live side by side.
On the outskirts of Canet-en-Roussillon, lovers of unspoilt natural sites will appreciate the Etang de Canet Saint-Nazaire, a Natura 2000 listed area that is home to over 200 species of birds, including many pink flamingos. Clearly visible from the banks of the lake, the fishermen's village with its wooden huts and Provençal canes is revealed.
As a family, you can discover Oniria and experience a real underwater journey in the heart of the superb aquarium with 83 tanks, including a huge one dedicated to sharks. A little further afield, the 11-hectare Mas Roussillon Arboretum is home to over a hundred Mediterranean and exotic species, as well as an orchard.

It's a great opportunity to buy local produce and, in summer, to pick seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Finally, on less fortunate days, you can also have fun thanks to the many indoor activities on offer at the colline des loisirs, including bowling, laser games, indoor mini golf and escape games. Rainy days will be happy days in Canet en Roussillon.

Canet-en-Roussillon is also a land of winegrowers united under the name ‘Les Vignobles de la Mer’, with five exceptional wine estates stretching between the Catalan coast and Perpignan. The region can also be explored on EuroVélo 8, a cycle route that follows the Mediterranean coast.
Nearby are some charming villages: Collioure, the pearl of the Côte Vermeille (voted ‘France's favourite village’ in 2024), the medieval village of Castelnou and Port Vendres, famous for its fishing port and magnificent coastal path.
The Catalan region has plenty to surprise you, with its varied landscapes, rich built heritage and regional culture.
